As an artist, I have always been drawn to subjects that reflect positivity, connection, and emotion. Growing up in Eltham, Victoria, the sound of kookaburras has always been a symbol of peace and happiness for me. At the same time, I wanted to capture a sense of community and connection that can be found in nature as these two native birds sit side by side, watching the world go by. This painting has been created to remind the viewers that there is always beauty to be found in the world, even during difficult times. You just have to look for it.
